Aged in whiskey barrels before roasting, this coffee develops a distinctive depth while preserving the natural character of the bean. Unlike many coffees labelled as medium roast that drift into darker roast territory, Kumo follows a true medium roast profile, allowing the coffee's sweetness, complexity, and origin character to shine.

Expect a balanced cup with notes of caramel chocolate, mixed berries, and a smooth malty finish, complemented by subtle barrel-aged complexity.

Japanese Iced Coffee

A refreshing brewing method that highlights sweetness, clarity, and aroma while showcasing the unique character of our whiskey barrel aged coffee.

Ingredients

  • 20g Kumo Whiskey Barrel Aged Coffee
  • 180g Hot Water (92–94°C)
  • 120g Ice

Method

  1. 1Place 120g ice into your server or carafe.
  2. 2Add 20g freshly ground coffee to your dripper.
  3. 3Bloom with 40g water for 30 seconds.
  4. 4Slowly pour the remaining 140g water over the next 2 minutes.
  5. 5Allow the coffee to brew directly onto the ice.
  6. 6Swirl gently and serve immediately.
